Recipient of the Good Design award, SunGrip is the evolution of SunTenac, the polyacetal snap fastener solution we pioneered more than 30 years ago.
State of the art injection techniques make SunGrip the only snap fasteners with a beautiful and soft matte finish. Further improving on all aspects of SunTenac, SunGrip are the world's most reliable snaps fasteners for apparel manufacturers.
1. How are SunGrip Snaps different than other plastic snaps?
SunGrip Snaps are not just a lighter weight and cost effective alternative to metal parts. It is also a safe, durable and trendy one. It improves on our industry defining SunTenac series with a beautiful and soft matte finish, 40 vivid colors and military-grade holding force in its SG-75 variant.
2. What makes SunGrip Snaps the better choice?
The high quality material and intelligent industrial design of SunGrip Snaps check all the boxes of a modern snap solution.
●Metal-free: no risk of nickel, brass or led allergies
●Soft: warm feeling on the skin as opposed to the cold sensation of metal parts.
●Smooth: does not rub against the skin
●Harm Free: no risk of skin scratches from sharp prongs sticking out
●Certified Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Class I
●No Waste. All runners are 100% recycled.
3. How can plastic snaps be so durable?
SunGrip Snaps are made of polyacetal (POM), a material more commonly used in high precision engineering parts in the construction, automotive, aerospace and medical industries. Polyacetal is known for its high resistance to impacts, its low wear and outstanding long-term fatigue endurance on top of being liquid and moisture proof. Using one of the highest grade of polyacetal, SunGrip Snaps can sustain temperatures up to 150°C (302F). In other words, SunGrip Snaps can be machine washed, dry-cleaned, and ironed without fear of breaking, melting or falling off. They can also retain their strong holding force better than metal parallel spring snaps or prong ring snaps over time as the graph shows below:
4. Are there any other advantages of using SunGrip Snaps?
For apparel manufacturers, SunGrip Snaps dramatically reduce fabric breakage, allowing the use of a wider range of fabric compared to other traditional fastening solutions.
Furthermore, contrary to metal snap buttons, Baby Snaps resists chemical reactions involving ammonia gas. In moist areas, ammonia may react with copper, brass, zinc and many alloys, especially those containing copper, and corrode them. This leads to a deterioration of the metal parts and/or coating. Baby Snaps possesses high chemical resistance and is immune to this problem. Ammonia being excreted by urine, this is especially important in the diaper and baby clothing industries.
5. How many colors / sizes are available?
Forty different vivid colors are available from stock for caps while socket and studs are readily available in 14 colors. Sizes are easily identifiable with our recommended combinations chart, answering the vast majority of requests.
